Kick Off Summer At Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows: Weekend Itineraries

Summer’s here, and there’s no better way to celebrate the changing seasons than with a weekend getaway to the iconic California coast. Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows is kicking off summer with new activities and offers for every type of traveler. Need help planning your trip? Here’s the perfect weekend itinerary for solo travelers, couples, and families.

For Solo Travelers

Take advantage of our pet-friendly policy and bring along your favorite furry companion for a weekend that’s a mix of adventure and relaxation. Kick off the getaway with Friday night dinner at one of Santa Monica’s many exciting restaurants. For French-Vietnamese fusion in a casually cool setting, try Cassia. Or, make a reservation at Pasjoli for elevated bistro fare. (No need to worry about parking when our house BMW car is waiting to chauffeur you to and from dinner.) Finally, end the night with craft cocktails at The Bungalow.

Dogtown Coffee bar

Start your Saturday with a Vietnamese iced coffee and breakfast burrito from Dogtown Coffee, then leash up the pup for a walk or hike — options abound no matter what your skill level is. For a relaxing walk, head out the hotel’s doors to Palisades Park, then take one of the easy paths along the Pacific. More adventurous hikers might want to head to Temescal Canyon Park or The Point at the Bluffs for an array of hiking trails and sweeping views of the Pacific and the Los Angeles skyline. Our guest relations team can also point you to some local favorites.

Round out your Saturday with some relaxation: Book a treatment at Exhale Spa, or enjoy the sun, sand, and surf at Miramar Beach Club, available exclusively to hotel guests from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend.

Our restaurant FIG is a must-visit, so wrap up your weekend with Sunday brunch on our patio. Try an Aperol Spritz or the Westside Paloma, then order from an à la carte menu with items like Maine lobster toast and foraged mushroom pizza. End your meal with warm strawberry-rhubarb cobbler — a sweet finish to a perfect weekend.

For Couples

Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply getting away together, spend time with your better half this summer at Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows. Leave the everyday behind when you check into one of our luxurious rooms or suites in our mid-century modern Ocean Tower or historic-meets-contemporary Palisades building. Start your weekend off right with a dozen market oysters and an ice-cold martini at FIG Restaurant, then follow it up by indulging in California halibut or steak frites and a bottle from our extensive wine list.

Fig Restaurant

Saturday morning, explore the iconic streets and sights of sunny Santa Monica. Feel the urge to do some shopping? The Santa Monica Farmers Market is a five-minute walk from the hotel and open every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. For the more sartorially inclined, head to the airy boutiques that line Montana Avenue, and find California coastal home goods at Brentwood General Store.

Finish your Saturday with an afternoon of pampering at Exhale Spa. A detox facial, deep tissue massage or glow body scrub will leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. A trip to The Miramar wouldn’t be complete without visiting our Miramar Golf Academy, so book a Sunday morning lesson in our virtual Foresight GCHawk golf simulator to get your games ready for a season on the links and wrap up your worry-free summer weekend.

For Families

Mark the end of the school year with a getaway designed to cater to every member of your family. Bring the grandparents along and fit three generations under one roof when you reserve our three-bedroom Bungalow One.

View of living area with coffee table and tv

Saturday, set up shop on the beach at Miramar Beach Club, which opens for the season May 28. Take in the gleaming Pacific under the shade of an umbrella in a private area reserved exclusively for hotel guests. The kids will find endless fun with a variety of beach activities like boogie boarding, beach volleyball, and more — plus plenty of tools for building sand castles. Need a break from the hot afternoon sun? Our shaded courtyard is the perfect place to cool down with a refreshing smoothie or iced matcha latte from Dogtown.

Poolside Cinema is a Saturday night activity the whole family will enjoy. Order drinks and snacks (and dip your feet in the pool) while watching a classic movie under a canopy of palm trees and stars. It’s the best way to usher in an unforgettable summer.
