Summer Family Travel
As travel and temperatures begin to heat up, and schools let out, who isn’t dreaming of the ideal family vacation right about now? Make that dream a reality and book your family travel at Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows.
The great news is that you can bring the entire family (no need to leave your fur babies at home!), as we are pet-friendly. Dogs and cats are welcome in every guest room and suite, including our 31 bungalow hideaways. Not only that, they get their own swag: all-natural cat or dog treats, a food and water bowl, a luxurious bed to use during the stay and a collapsible travel bowl plus pet-waste bags. And, to further prove our pet love, we’ve created a partnership with Wags & Walks, a Los Angeles- and Nashville-based 501c3 dog rescue. When you and your pet stay with us, 10 percent of our pet fee will be donated to Wags & Walks.
With a top location just steps from the beach and the famous Santa Monica Pier nearby (think games, rides, arcades, vendors–even trapeze lessons!), we’ve got all the ingredients for a perfect summer vacation, across the generations. Take a bike ride on the nearby Venice Beach Boardwalk. Visit Splash Park at Tongva, six acres of greenery, where kids can play on the splash pad and slides, while adults enjoy beautiful landscaping and gardens. Take a Chef’s Tour of the iconic Santa Monica Farmers’ Market and stroll (and shop) on Abbot Kinney. Or, hit the beach. The Miramar Beach Club offers your own reserved area on Santa Monica Beach with lounge chairs, a beach umbrella & snacks and beverages available from our partner, Perry’s Beach Cafe. Hotel guests are escorted to and from the beach in our jeep house cars, allowing guests easy access to the sea and sand.
Nights at Miramar are filled with unique experiences, too. When was the last time you sat back to watch a film under the stars? Join us and enjoy dinner and a movie outdoors at our Poolside Cinema. Visit the Night Market, starting June 2 and continuing every Thursday at The Bungalow, through September 1, from 5pm -11 pm—and it’s free! Celebrate our opening night with renowned DJ Mayer Hawthorne, who has released four full-length albums, one of which earned him a Grammy nomination. Also on opening night, 818 Tequila kicks off a game-night cabana with party games like cornhole and giant Jenga. Night Market features food vendors, cocktails, music, a kids play area, fun under the stars, and special DJ performances and surprises all summer long.
Kids can sign up for surfing lessons, while parents (and grandparents) savor a bit of Me-Time at Exhale Spa & Fitness. For Father’s Day, on June 19, join us for Hogs, Hops & Pops, a celebration on the lawn of local breweries and barbecue! Chef Jason and Chef Patricio Wise of Nixtaco get together for their annual Father’s Day barbecue featuring Pachamama Farm’s whole roasted hogs, local breweries, and lawn games for all to enjoy.
And, in a celebration of Pride, The Bungalow and the Miramar, in partnership with Summer Water, will donate a portion of the proceeds from our Pride Cocktail to a local LGBTQ+ organization during the entire month of June.
