This holiday season, Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows is turning the page on a new festive tradition in partnership with neighborhood favorite Zibby’s Bookshop, located on Montana Avenue. Bringing beloved holiday tales to life through an enchanting afternoon tea experience, the celebration draws inspiration from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Polar Express, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
On select weekends in December, families are invited to sip, savor, and settle in for festive read-alongs of cherished holiday classics, accompanied by a whimsical afternoon tea featuring seasonal menu offerings, special festive surprises and guest appearances, including a read-along by Zibby’s Bookshop founder Zibby Owens, and more. Each seating will also feature a pop-up bookshop curated by Zibby’s, so guests can pick out Christmas gifts for the readers on their list before heading home.
Storybook Afternoon Tea is priced from $120 per person, with each ticket including a copy of the featured holiday book to take home and treasure.

The season officially begins beneath the lights of our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Join us December 3 for an evening of carols performed by the Santa Monica High School Choir, hot chocolate, and photos with Santa.
Join us each Saturday beginning May 25, 2026 for Mermaid Magic at the Miramar, where storytelling, songs, and shimmering bubbles bring the morning to life beneath the Santa Monica sun.
Spend the afternoon nibbling on savory sandwiches, warm scones with clotted cream and house-made preserves, followed by a selection of delightful sweets.
